DIY {Date cards}

I will admit that I can be the most indecisive person on the planet at times. Every time my fiance asks me what I'd like to do I fully cannot make up my mind at all. Well friends, I've come up with a cute way to choose what to do for date nights. I put together a few simple envelopes from kraft paper and wrote down the best ideas I had for date nights or daytime adventures. I figured the best place for them to be was on our fridge, strung on a cute string.

DIY {pretty tassel garlands}

Last week I discovered an insane gold mine in my neighborhood for craft lovers. An entire warehouse full of party and crafting materials. Needless to say my mind was going a mile a minute and I was ecstatic to pick up some mylar sheets so I could make this pretty little lady for a close friend. I've been eyeballing these garlands for quite some time and shared my favorites last week as inspiration for my version. It's amazing how easy these are (here's a great tutorial) and how much of an impact they give off. I plan on making a couple others and adding a few more things along the pretty string for flare, perhaps some metal stencil letters I've been waiting to use. The options are endless friends, get crafting!

Last week was indeed one of the busiest weeks of my life. From new adventures to jumping into wedding planning to celebrating friend's accomplishments, I was busy every day with something entirely gratifying and visually stimulating. I was beyond excited when I found out I won tickets to this cool wedding event and have been counting down the days until I was able to try on big ban.do's, eat yummy food and see this gorgeous line in person. Basically I was stoked to be able to participate in something so fabulous and although it was a bit of visual overload, I got to snap a few photos of things I loved and got my very first peek at a few areas of the wedding world I have always been curious about. 

I also got to participate in a very cool wedding design competition that I will share later this week. See I told you it was a busy week!

{inspiration} bold rugs

One element that I wish I had more of at my house was bold statement rugs. Being that my apartment is entirely hardwood floors, you would think that I have many on hand and in fact there are only 3 rugs currently. I would like to up that rug total to possibly 5 or 6 in the coming months and I am just gathering my rug inspiration for when that time comes. Plus why wouldn't you want to make your feet happy?

free people's enchanted forest

I was roaming around the mall yesterday and discovered a familiar brand I like had just opened a new shop in my area and man I was in love walking around their bohemian style store. There are so many elements that scream DIY that I was drawn to from embroidered canvas sacks, to painted and string wrapped branches, to sequin blankets and lots of flowers and tassels. Let's hope they show us how to make some of them in their segment wednesDIY on their blog. Otherwise enjoy these pretty images of an enchanted forest free people style.

DIY {mason jar decor & burlap table runner}

It might not be a surprise to you that anything you put in a mason jar just looks homespun and so inviting. With that being said, I jumped at the chance to have a little fun with some good old mason jars for atop my newly refinished dinning table. yay. {I can't wait to share that makeover story with you next week} In the meantime, here is how I adorned the top of it; twine wrapped mason jars filled with vanilla candles, a doily, a lovely pink cactus and a simply made burlap table runner, which I washed, ironed, and added a little flare with some peach embroidery thread along the edges at an angle. Honestly, planting the cactus probably took longer than making the table runner, it's that easy. 

DIY {paper pinwheel decor}

My latest wedding that I was able to be a part of at this beautiful venue was by far one of my favorites. I immediately fell in love with the paper craft decor and the quaint, simple space that embodied the dimly lit courtyard. Paper craft is becoming a simple and inexpensive way of bringing a homespun feel to whatever it is you wish to decorate and these photos are living proof!

These pinwheels are a favorite of mine and naturally, I couldn't not share how great they are. They are such an inexpensive way to add so much character to your decor. So, grab your friends, lots of pretty paper, lots of glue and get to work. Here is a helpful tutorial for the step by step on how to make them and here is another example of when I've used them in the past.
